WISDOM
#WISDOM is to know when and how to apply knowledge and understanding.
What do you take away from a sermon? Or do you just say "that was a good sermon." If that is all you do, if it does not stay with you, you would not be able to use the wisdom given,
Wisdom is something you have to consume. If you do not keep it, you will not remember; and if you do not remember, it cannot enter your heart; and if it does not enter your heart, you cannot do it.
Wisdom requires a move from the head to the heart.
If you do not believe it, it will not happen in your life. You can read the Bible like a book or a novel, but if you do not apply it, you cannot benefit from it. The enemy knows our ways and pushes us into our own destruction. But, when we apply wisdom and apply what we hear, we can avoid the traps of the enemy.
Proverbs 2:1
Wisdom must be Sought
You cannot become good at something if you do not learn it. We have to put in more than what we think we have to put in. Wisdom has to be sought.
Proverbs 2:2
Treasure Wisdom
Have a heart for the wisdom of God. God would not give away His wisdom to those who don't use it. He gives you what you really want. Willing to understand it, seek it out eagerly, seek it out conscientiously. Wisdom has to be sought.
Proverbs 2:3
Cry out for insight
Lift up your voice for discernment.
Proverbs 2:4
Go after Wisdom more than your pay check.
Wisdom must be Taught
The wisdom of God must be learnt and used. Then you will be successful.
Proverbs 2:6-7
God does not give wisdom when you do not have the character to manage what you have.
Matthew 28:
Doing in God's name without His nature is not profitable. Develop more of God's character and you will receive His wisdom.
Proverbs 2:8
Speak His Word and back it up with His character.
Proverbs 2:9-15
Wisdom is a defense against evil
It does not come with age. It comes with learning. After learning it, use what you have learnt. If you don't you will be trapped. Wisdom is not about something amazing happening. Most of the times wisdom works quietly and simply. Wisdom is protection or defense against evil.
Proverbs 2:12-15
Apostasy. Turning away from...
The enemy is trying to embarrass and kill saints not the sinners. Some of the kicks you are suffering now is because you know better. Wisdom is a defense from evil.
Praise power does not bring wisdom. Only into God's presence to obtain wisdom. In proximity to God so He can show you and teach you something.
Proverbs 2:16-18
Wisdom is a defense against immorality
Wisdom keeps you from immorality.
Verse 17-19
Immorality kills you Spiritually as well as naturally/physically. Immortality sets you on a path that makes it difficult to get back to a straight path. However, it is possible only through Christ.
Proverbs 2:20-21
Wisdom establishes good character and righteousness
You will walk with good men and do what is right.
Wisdom is essential to being effective in a Christians life and has to be sought, learnt, treasured as it is a defense against evil and immorality to establish you in righteousness.
God wants His people to wise to do mighty things.
